Robert Guo is a high school student at Upper Canada College with an interest in filmmaking, marketing and communications.  As a rising junior, Robert will continue his film journey through taking the high level film course in the IB Diploma program.  He applies such skills to use through being the lead filmmaker and videographer of Preserving stories, and working with the team to spread the appreciation for diversified history.

Preserving Stories began with a simple belief — that every veteran’s voice matters, and their experiences deserve to be remembered. What started as a personal project gradually grew into a mission: to document the stories of veterans not through textbooks or timelines, but through their own words.

Through each interview, I realized how powerful these memories are — filled with courage, sacrifice, and deeply human moments that history books often overlook. These stories aren’t just about the past; they offer perspective, empathy, and connection for the present and future.

Preserving Stories is more than just a website. It’s a space to listen, to learn, and to honor those who served — one story at a time.
